Hend Nafea grew up in a conservative family in rural Egypt. She went down to Tahrir Square in December of 2011 to protest military rule, and it was there that she was arrested, beaten, and stripped naked by members of the Egyptian army. Three years later, she was sentenced to life in prison. "I kept saying to myself, I did nothing wrong," Nafea says in this documentary, which was filmed the day after her sentencing. "I'm the one who was dragged, stripped, beaten, humiliated." This is the second video in The Trials of Spring, a six-part series about women who were in the front lines of the revolutions of the Arab Spring.
